DIY Product Photography Guide for Indian Sellers
You don't need a DSLR. How to shoot professional product photos using your Smartphone and natural light.
Product Photos > Product Description
Customers can't touch the product online. They rely 100% on photos. Bad photo = "Fake Product" in customer's mind.
The Smartphone Setup (Under ₹500)
- Camera: Any phone from last 3 years (iPhone 13+, Pixel 7+, Samsung S20+).
- Light: Window light (Sunlight). NOT direct sun (harsh shadows), but indirect bright light.
- Background: White Chart Paper (₹10 from stationery shop). Curve it to create an "Infinity Wall".
- Tripod: Cheap mobile tripod (₹300) to stop shake.
Shooting Checklist
- Main Shot: Front facing, whole product visible.
- Detail Shot: Zoom in on texture/fabric.
- Scale Shot: Place a coin/pen/hand next to it to show size.
- Lifestyle Shot: Product in use (e.g., wearing the jewelry).
Editing Apps (Free)
- Lightroom Mobile: Adjust exposure/contrast.
- Snapseed: Healing tool to remove dust spots.
- Photoroom: Remove background automatically (AI).
Consistency Rule
Crop all images to Square (1:1). It looks best on Instagram and Amazon.
