The 15% Market

15% of the world has some disability. If your site isn't accessible, you block 15% of customers.

Basics of A11y (Accessibility)

  1. Screen Readers: Blind users listen to your site.

    • Do your images have Alt Text?
    • Do your buttons say "Submit" or just "Click Here"?
  2. Keyboard Navigation: Can I use the site without a mouse? (Tab key).

  3. Color Contrast: Light grey text on white background is unreadable for many.

  4. Captions: Videos must have subtitles for deaf users.

The SEO Bonus

Google creates "Accessibility" scores. Accessible sites rank higher because they are easier for Google's bot (which is also "blind") to read.
